COORDINATED ACROSS YOUR BUILDING

A clear process, from removal to return.

Dates, participating units and access arrangements are agreed with the property manager. Each filter remains linked to its unit and original position.

  1. 01

    Coordinate

Identify the equipment, confirm washable filter eligibility and arrange both access visits with the manager.

  2. 02

    Collect and identify

Remove filters from participating units and record their unit, device and original position.

  3. 03

    Clean and dry

Use the appropriate method for the identified filters, following manufacturer instructions, then allow them to dry completely.

  4. 04

    Reinstall

Return each dry filter to its original position and flag any remaining work to the property manager.

SCOPE CONFIRMED BEFORE COLLECTION

Your washable filters, with the right method.

The device model, filter reference and filter condition determine eligibility and method. A disposable filter is not treated as a washable filter.

Plan maintenance for my building

Included in this campaign

  • Scheduling and access coordination
  • Collection and identification by unit
  • Cleaning of eligible washable filters
  • Complete drying and return to the original position

Separate from full equipment maintenance

The core, drainage, fans, ducts, balancing and repairs are not included in this filter collection service. Any additional service must be assessed and approved under a separate scope.

IDENTIFY BEFORE CLEANING

Which filters are fitted in your units?

These illustrations help you prepare your request. A photo does not establish the reference, device compatibility or whether a filter is washable.

Foam or fine-mesh prefilter
Washability to confirm

Foam or fine-mesh prefilter

A flat medium in a light frame that captures dust and larger particles. Some references are washable; others require replacement.

Metal mesh filter
Washability to confirm

Metal mesh filter

A rigid frame with layers of metal mesh. For a compatible washable reference, follow its instructions. Do not assume dishwasher cleaning is allowed; a damaged filter may need replacing.

Disposable pleated filter
Replace

Disposable pleated filter

An accordion-folded medium. A filter identified as disposable is not washed. A MERV rating describes filtration; it does not establish washability or device compatibility.

Replacement HEPA filter
Check the reference

Replacement HEPA filter

A dense, pleated medium for compatible equipment. A disposable HEPA reference must be replaced according to its instructions, without washing. Appearance alone does not confirm a HEPA rating.

Activated carbon filter
Check the reference

Activated carbon filter

Carbon media can help capture certain odours. Colour does not establish composition. Replacement and any maintenance follow its instructions; it is not automatically included in a washable-filter campaign.

For a confirmed washable filter, the instructions may call for vacuuming dust, washing with lukewarm soapy water and rinsing. We use this method only when the manufacturer allows it for that specific filter. It must be completely dry before reinstallation.

The frequency references below support general planning. Disposable, HEPA and carbon filters follow their own instructions; there is no single replacement interval for these categories.

THE 24-HOUR TIMELINE · CONDITIONS APPLY

The timeline starts with preparation.

Reinstallation within 24 hours refers to the time between removing and returning a filter for an eligible intervention. We confirm the conditions before committing to that timeline.

  • Access for removal and reinstallation
  • Filter volume and a compatible cleaning method
  • Time needed for complete drying
  • Ventilation instructions for the specific device

Whether the equipment can be stopped or left without filters during service must be checked. A damp filter is never reinstalled just to meet the deadline.

UNDERSTANDING THE REQUIREMENTS

Filters, maintenance reminders and full service: what’s the difference?

01

The filters

Cleaning frequency and method depend on the filter reference, condition, device model and operating conditions.

02

The control’s reminder

Its presence, frequency, meaning and reset procedure vary by device and control. An indicator alone does not describe all the work required.

03

Full equipment maintenance

This includes other components and checks. It goes beyond collecting and cleaning filters and must be planned separately under the applicable instructions.

A SCHEDULE THAT FITS

One-time or recurring, according to your program.

Twice-yearly campaigns can be arranged when that frequency suits your building’s maintenance program. Depending on the equipment and its use, filters may require more frequent attention between these campaigns.

When preparing the quote, we identify the necessary interim tasks with you and establish who will handle them. Two campaigns do not cover all maintenance needed throughout the year.

Planning references, subject to manufacturer instructions

These guides are not a universal schedule for your building. Manufacturer recommendations and operating conditions take precedence.

NRCan — Heat Recovery Ventilators, revised February 2012 (PDF, pp. 26–27)

CMHC gives a two-month reference for filters. Its annual guidance includes duct inspection; it recommends a technician when deeper cleaning is needed. CMHC — How to maintain a heat recovery ventilator, March 31, 2018

Methods are not interchangeable: this guide distinguishes disposable filters and ERV cores that must not be soaked. Always use the instructions for the specific model. Venmar/vänEE AI/N manufacturer guide, document 23831, revision 08 (French PDF)

LET’S PLAN YOUR CAMPAIGN

Request a quote for your building

Tell us how many units need service and which equipment is installed. You can attach your air exchanger manual to help us prepare a proposal for your building.

Don’t have the manual? A photo of the label showing the make and model can help. You can also send your request without any documents.

After your request

  1. Our team reviews the information and documents you provide.
  2. We clarify equipment, access and scope with you.
  3. Service and its dates are confirmed with your property manager.

Model 1

85 references in the list

Check the reference on the device label. You can edit the fields below or leave them blank. Selecting a model does not confirm that its filter is washable.

Attach your air exchanger manual

Drop your PDF manual here or select a file.

The manual helps us check the filter type and the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions before confirming cleaning, frequency and visit arrangements.

Other details, if known

Do not enter residents’ names or access codes.

This request does not reserve a date or confirm eligibility for the 24-hour timeline.

Before your filter collection.

Can every air exchanger filter be cleaned?

No. The campaign only covers washable filters confirmed as eligible based on their reference, device model, condition and manufacturer instructions. Disposable filters are not washed.

Is reinstallation within 24 hours guaranteed for every building?

This timeline, from removal to reinstallation, is limited to eligible interventions. Both access visits, filter volume, cleaning method, complete drying and ventilation constraints must be confirmed before collection. No damp filter is reinstalled just to meet the deadline.

Are two campaigns a year enough?

Not necessarily. Frequency depends on the equipment and its use. More frequent attention may be needed between campaigns; responsibility for these interim tasks is agreed with the property manager when preparing the quote.

Does the service include full maintenance and resetting every reminder?

No. Filter collection does not include the core, drainage, fans, ducts, balancing or repairs. A reminder is reset only when included in the agreed scope and after the corresponding tasks have been completed according to the manufacturer. A reset does not certify the device.

Can I request a quote without knowing the model?

Yes. Provide your name, email, building address including city and unit count, or choose “To be confirmed”. The preferred period, references, manuals and photos are optional. Equipment identification must still be confirmed before service.
